                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING A PORTION
                   OF AN ALLEY LOCATED SOUTHWEST OF EAST 24TH
                   STREET PLACE, BETWEEN 7TH AVENUE AND 8TH
                   AVENUE.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned a portion of an alley located southwest of East 
24th
         Street Place, between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue, more 
particularly
         described herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made 
a
         part hereof by reference:
                Part of a 20 foot wide unopened alleyway.  To find
                the true point of beginning of said part of
                alleyway, start on the southwest line of East 24th
                Street Place 145 feet northwest of the intersection
                of the southwest line of East 24th Street Place
                with the northwest line of 8th Avenue, thence
                southwest 270 feet parallel to 8th Avenue to the
                true point of beginning, thence continuing
                southwest 325 feet parallel to 8th Avenue, thence
                at a right angle northwest 20 feet, thence
                northeast 325 feet parallel to 8th Avenue, thence
                at a right angle southeast 20 feet to the true
                point of beginning.  Said part of alleyway
                separates lots 7-11, block C, Hagan's Subdivision
                of Fort Cheatham, as shown by plat of record in
                plat book 2, page 33, R.O.H.C., and lots 2 and 3,
                Fox's Addition to Block C, Hagan's Subdivision of
                Fort Cheatham, as shown by plat of record in plat
                book 4, page 38, R.O.H.C., from lots 15 and 16, and
                part of lot 14, block C, said Hagan's Subdivision,
                and lots 5-8, said Fox's Addition.  Tax Map No.
                156J-G-12-17, 37, and 38.
               
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as 
provided
         by law.
